About the event

Reading Rodeo: Shooting for the Moon
Meet Cookie the Chuckwagon Cook each Tuesday in June and July for a special reading of one of our favorite books about the West. Learn how the Code of the West inspired characters from children’s literature, join Cookie on Trail Rides into the galleries, and take home a memory to enjoy after your visit.

In Shooting for the Moon, we’ll read about the biographical story of sharp-shooter Annie Oakley, her rise to fame, charitable works, patriotism, and championing of women’s roles in society.

Locations for each week’s Reading Rodeo will be provided at the front desk.

Free with Museum admission or membership.
