Join us for a great 2-day camp for kids and teenagers to make their own jewelry.
What:
Students will make: copper dog tag/pendant, a copper ring. and a leather bracelet with a copper coin attached. The coin will be designed by the student. Students will be able to stamp words, dates or symbols on their jewelry. For students that have taken his class before, different projects will be given to them.
Cost:
$39 for the camp. Cost includes all materials.

It is for kids ages 8+

Session 1 June 9 & 10,
Session 2 June 23 & 24
Session 3 July 7 & 8
All session are from 10:00-11:30am each day
Parents are invited to join us the last 10 minutes on the 2nd day to see the jewelry displayed that the students have made.
Where:
Class is taught at The Local Artisan Collective, located at 2371 Kiesel Ave in down town Ogden, just a little south of the Megaplex.

About The Instructor:
This class will be taught by Rene Venegas, a 16th generation silversmith. His family was one of the first to arrive from Spain to the Americas. His ancestor, Felipe Venegas, was the silversmith for the early cathedrals in the Dominican Republic and stamped the first European coins in the New World. He has been teaching jewelry and silversmithing classes at Weber State for 15 years. In addition, he has been featured in The Standard Examiner, The Signpost, KUTV Inside the Story, FOX13 Good Morning Utah, The Salt Project and KTVX Good Things Utah.
