Heritage Week: Whirlpool Workshops

Join us this heritage week at Birr Castle Demesne on Tuesday 19 August for a hands-on creative workshop exploring Ireland’s rich astronomical heritage. Hosted by the Astronomical Observatories of Ireland, each session blends stories of past discoveries with modern astronomical research, all inspired by the historic Great Telescope still on site.

Children will engage in interactive arts activities connected to the science of space, and they are welcome to bring their creations home after the workshop.

Whirlpool Workshops are designed for children aged 8 to 13 years, accompanied by an adult.

This is a ticketed event – both children and adults require a ticket for entry.

Times: Two workshops – 11:30 AM & 1:00 PM
