Archaeology Demonstration: Ancient Animal Bones - What they can reveal about the past

Demonstration involving looks at a selection of archaeological animal bones. Learn how and why archaeologists study human-animal relationships through this analysis and what animal bones can tell us: we can gain information on diet, hunting practices, trade, and much more.

Museum staff will be there to respond to questions and also if any member of the public may have an object that they think could be archaeological we will talk them through what they are required to do.

Our Stand will be in the "Culture, Communications, Archaeology and Sports" marquee at the National Ploughing Championship in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly Tuesday 16th to Thursday 18th.
