Elvis' First Day on the Coast

On this day in 1956, Elvis Presley checked in to Gulf Hills for the very first time—making this little corner of the Mississippi Gulf Coast part of his story. It quickly became his favorite hideaway, where he could ride horses, play piano late into the night, and simply unwind.

Nearly 70 years later, we’re celebrating like it’s 1956.
