The Rite of Our Mother, Part I: The Rite of the Old Woman

Join us to represent collectively everything that is so we can remember and heal ourselves. The goal is to heal ourselves past, present, and future through the present action.

Thunder Perfect Mind, an ancient Coptic text originally discovered in the Nag Hammadi library in 1945, serves as the backbone of the invocation of Our Mother, The Earth. The seeming paradoxical statements highlight the expression of a Prime Creator who is the sum of all physical, sensual, emotional, and fanciful expressions of life. We are reminded of the goddess who loves all of her children, even the monsters.

Scripts will be provided on the day of to all participants. There are many parts for people to take depending on which verses resonate with you. Test the vibration of the speech, say it out loud, sing it out loud. This is as much a song as it is a prayer or an invocation.
