Join us for a special evening celebrating a cult classic of digital entertainment history!
We’ll kick things off with a fun MADE-style version of the game show “Um, Actually,” where you’ll test your knowledge about surprising facts about the making of the movie. After the game, we’ll dive into a brief presentation exploring the context behind the 1993 Super Mario Bros. film — the first major Hollywood adaptation of a video game. We’ll talk about how this ambitious and famously chaotic production reflected the early growing pains of bringing digital entertainment to the big screen.
Then, settle in for a screening of the movie itself! Meet other fans of gaming history, share your favorite oddball trivia, and learn more about The MADE (the Museum of Art and Digital Entertainment) and our mission to preserve the history and culture of video games.
Whether you’re a longtime Mario fan, a digital media buff, or just curious about one of the weirdest video game movies ever made, you won’t want to miss it!
