About the event

MADE Classroom: Storytelling in Games
Story can be a really compelling component in video games. Discuss what makes a story and then make an interactive one! Ages 8 to 13.

About this Event

In this 1.5 hour class, students at the MADE will discuss core components of storytelling and see where they do and don’t overlap with video game design. Then, they will work on a template Scratch project to implement their own stories as branching cutscenes.

More specifically, they will learn:

  • A definition for storytelling
  • Components of a story
  • Why is storytelling important
  • How is storytelling different in games
  • Make your own story in a video game
