In honor of Menstrual Health Awareness Month, we are celebrating at our PERIOD PREP PARTY! Our bodies drastically change during puberty. Let’s take the confusion out of it and prepare for our periods — something we are going to be working with and around for the next 40 years!
Join AFLO HEALTH for an immersive and empowering morning as we explore menstrual hygiene and the impact of period poverty on our community. Girls are invited into a safe space to have honest and open conversations about menstruation and period preparation.
All questions are welcome as we explore healthy ways to live in an open and fun way, with lessons taught by an experienced health care professional and mother of three girls.
This program is recommended for girls 9 years or older and designed for those that have reached menarche (their first period) or are close to starting.
Topics Discussed:
Explanation of the menstrual cycle and basic anatomy review
Feminine hygiene and instruction on how to use products (simulation only)
Explanation of period poverty and how it impacts our community
Activities Include:
Games and Prizes
