50 Years Later: Southeast Asian Resettlement Film Screening & Funder Talk

Come join us for a special event commemorating the 50 years since the resettlement of Southeast Asian refugees. We will be screening a thought-provoking film followed by a strategy talk with Bay Area-based Southeast Asian organizations and funders who have supported this cause. Don't miss this opportunity to learn, reflect, and strategize with other like-minded funders.

This special event, co-hosted by Navin Moul of Zellerbach Family Foundation and Claudia Leung of New Breath Foundation, will seed collaboration and conversation around funding strategies to invest more deeply in Southeast Asian community needs and resiliency. The program begins with a screening of Episode 2 of , a docuseries that amplifies the intergenerational impact of structural violence and demonstrates the power of Southeast Asian refugees resisting and rebuilding in America. Created by community organizations Southeast Asian Freedom Network (SEAFN) and VietLead, the film is based in Philadelphia, but is a story that Southeast Asian refugee communities across the U.S. have experienced after their resettlement.

After the film, a panel featuring local and national Southeast Asian organizations and funding partners will share about ongoing challenges they face, and a conversation on funding strategies to resource refugee communities.
