Belly dance is a low- to no-impact art form that celebrates movement, creativity, and connection. Rooted in traditions from Southwest Asia and North Africa, it’s a beautiful and empowering way to move your body—no matter your age, shape, gender, or dance background.
In this inclusive class, we’ll explore a variety of belly dance styles with a focus on performance traditions from regions including Egypt, Turkey, and Greece. You’ll be introduced to Egyptian, Turkish, and Greek styles, as well as American Cabaret, Fusion, and Improvisational Group Formats.
Through gentle, rhythmic movement, you’ll build a strong core, improve your balance and posture, increase your cardio endurance, and cultivate grace and fluidity, all while having fun and learning a gorgeous cultural art form.
Charlene brings over 20 years of experience as both a performer and teacher. Her classes blend deep cultural appreciation with joyful expression, offering a welcoming space to explore the dance’s diverse roots and contemporary evolutions.
