Saturday's Session: 10am - 5pm (ish)
Sunday's Session: 10am - 4pm
Parchment making workshop is on Saturday May 31'st from 10-5ish. This is a cooking-show style workshop showing each stage of parchment making from green hide to finished substrate.
Please wear work clothes, waterproof shoes or boots if you have them, and a work apron if you own one. Parts of this workshop require that you wear a mask to protect your lungs, and gloves to protect your skin - both will be provided unless you bring your own.
Bring a lunch and a change of clothes - coffee, tea & some snacks provided.
The site is not handicapped accessible for Saturday's portion; the farm is on a hill and most work will be done outside. Be aware that there are chickens and cats that free range.
Sunday June 1st 10-4 will be ink-making, quill cutting, and a long session on how to use parchment. Please bring your own watercolor/gouache paints & brushes. This portion of the workshop is handicapped accessible including a wheelchair ramp. Space is limited due to it being a private residence (I don't anticipate there being a lot of people, but if there are, we can move it outside to tents weather permitting).
Please bring a lunch - coffee, tea & some snacks provided.
OPTIONAL: tawing demo if there is interest - for bookbinding.
Note: we have a dog and cat that live in the house, chickens & cats free-range outside.
Both sessions are FREE for SCA participants.
Donations are welcome to help cover costs, but not necessary.
Please stay home if you are ill.
Please take your boots off, or wear house shoes while in the house.
Campers are welcome to stay free, I will post links to local B&B's.
Service dogs welcome, just be aware that we do have chickens and cats, and owner must be responsible for their K-9 partner at all times.
