Public libraries are a highly valued community resource in Whitehorse, offering programs, spaces, collections, and resources to people of all ages and abilities.
Whitehorse City Council has provided library services in collaboration with Manningham City Council since 1995 via Whitehorse Manningham Libraries - a regional library corporation.
The Local Government Act 2020 states that all regional library corporations must be wound-up before 2030. This means that Whitehorse Manningham libraries will be wound-up, and that Whitehorse City Council must transition to a new operating structure.
We want to know how you currently use the libraries, what you value in a library service and your vision for the future of libraries in Whitehorse.
By participating in a focus group and having your say, you will help guide us in deciding which library operating structure is best suited to the needs of Whitehorse residents - now and in the future.
Tickets for A new chapter for Whitehorse libraries – In-person focus group can be booked here.
We have gathered all the information for you in one convenient spot, but please keep in mind that these are subject to change. We do our best to keep everything updated, but something might be out of sync.
