BJCEM, ŠKUC Association, and GO! 2025 warmly welcome you to the 20th edition of the Mediterranea Biennial, a vibrant gathering of over 94 emerging artists from across Europe and the Mediterranean, curated by Tia Čiček and Misal Adnan Yıldız. 🌍
Organised in the framework of GO! 2025 – European Capital of Culture, this edition embraces the theme “BORDERLESS”. But instead of simply celebrating the absence of borders, Mediterranea 20 invites critical reflection on the boundaries—geographical, social, psychological—that shape our lives. Under the curatorial concept "Our Collective Limits …", the Biennial explores the ways we live, connect, and imagine futures together.
Spanning exhibitions, performances, installations, and conversations, the Biennial activates venues across Nova Gorica, Gorizia, and Vipava, cities symbolically positioned on the border between Slovenia and Italy.
💬 Opening Days (May 30 – June 3) will bring all participating artists together for a packed programme of events, including the Forum of Young Artists (Saturday, May 31), a public gathering of voices addressing the future of art, society, and cultural cooperation.
🎨 Since its founding in Barcelona in 1985, Mediterranea Biennial, promoted by BJCEM – Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée, has been a vital platform for artistic exchange, cultural dialogue, and new creative energies.

Vabljeni na Mediterraneo 20 – Bienale mladih umetnikov

🧭 Uvodni dnevi: 30. maj – 3. junij 2025
Lepo vas vabimo na 20. izdajo Mediterranee, - bienala mladih umetnikov, ki bo združila več kot 94 mladih umetnic_kov iz Evrope in sredozemskega prostora. 🌍
Dogodek poteka v okviru GO! 2025 – Evropske prestolnice kulture, letošnja izdaja pa nosi temo »GREMO BREZMEJNO!«. Vendar prireditev ne slavi le odsotnosti meja. Mediterranea 20 spodbuja premislek o mejah – geografskih, družbenih, psiholoških – ki oblikujejo naša življenja. Pod kuratorskim konceptom »Meje v nas …« bienale odpira prostor za raziskovanje načinov sobivanja, povezovanja in zamišljanja skupne prihodnosti.
Razstava bo obsegala razstave, performanse, instalacije in pogovore ter bo potekala na različnih lokacijah v Novi Gorici, Gorici in Vipavi – mestih, ki simbolično ležijo ob slovensko-italijanski meji.
💬 Uvodni dnevi (30. maj – 3. junij) bodo priložnost za srečanje z vsemi sodelujočimi umetnicami_ki, ki bodo svoje projekte predstavile skozi niz dogodkov. Osrednji dogodek bo Forum mladih umetnic_kov (sobota, 31. maj), kjer bomo skupaj razmišljali o prihodnosti umetnosti, družbe in kulturnega sodelovanja.
🎨 Bienale Mediterranea, ki ga promovira mreža BJCEM – Biennale des Jeunes Créateurs de l’Europe et de la Méditerranée, od leta 1985 naprej ustvarja prostor za umetniško izmenjavo in medkulturni dialog.
Letošnjo edicijo kurirata Tia Čiček in Misal Adnan Yıldız, organizirajo pa jo BJCEM, Društvo ŠKUC in GO! 2025.
