Sewing club in the community room at Tesco Bulwell. Fun, friendly group where everyone is welcome!
Whether you want to learn to sew from scratch, improve skills, learn mending and alterations, upcycle your old textiles, whatever you can do with sewing and textiles or just want to come along and sew in a social setting everyone is welcome! Dressmaking, toy making, basic soft furnishings (I’m not an expert on curtains), textile arts, fabric collage, scrap busting, machine embroidery (free motion), and more!
We have sewing machines and kit available to hire for £3 per session or you can bring your own along, there are plenty of fabric scraps for practising and sewing tools for everyone to borrow so you don’t need to bring anything at all to get started! Sharron can help you plan your project so you know exactly what you’re going to need if you need to buy anything.
Thanks to a very generous donation we also have some gorgeous fabrics available that are suitable for learner projects that I can bring in once we plan your project (there’s too much to carry it all every time!).
Other fabrics and kits (eg make a bag) available to buy at very low cost.
Tea and coffee always available (donation towards costs appreciated but don’t go without if you don’t have any coins!).
