SBK in the Open is back for 2025 in Nottingham! Join us for a free and fun outdoor dance event, aimed at celebrating community, diversity and self-expression through dance, in a safe environment.

5 - 5.30PM - Konpa class with Nicolas & Vaso

Get ready to stretch and feel energised with a quick Hartha style yoga session by Shanti 🇮🇳, a freelance yoga teacher of 10+ years 🧘♀️ Bring your own mat or ask the organiser for one in advance!
- Dance Classes -
What better way to start us off than a dive in to Bachata with Jacopo 🇮🇹 & Sarah 🇬🇧, the powerful teaching duo! With a combined teaching experience of 16 years and beautiful style, we are so lucky to have them back with us for a 3rd year in a row 🌞🎉
Next, Nicolas, who has been dancing various styles collectively for 10 years 🇬🇧 and Vaso, a dance teacher of various styles 🇬🇷, will deliver a 30 min lesson of Konpa (Kompa), which is a dance from Haiti in the Caribbean 🇭🇹. It involves smooth hip swaying, gentle footwork, and turns.
The classes are open to all abilities. These styles are a partner dance - you can come along with your partner, friends or solo - either way, we have got you covered.
- SBK SOCIAL & FUNimations -
During the social, you will dance to predominantly Bachata, Salsa, Kizomba, Urban Kiz and Konpa music 🎶
There will be a Rueda circle led by the wonderful David! 💃🕺
No dance experience is required to join in - just come and see what our thriving dance community is about!
