Originally released in a butchered cut as a B feature to Nic Roeg’s Don’t Look Now, The Wicker Man has long since become a cult classic and an absolute staple of the folk horror sub-genre. Edward Woodward stars as Sergeant Howie who arrives on a remote Scottish island to investigate the case of a missing child; despite a pervasive eeriness, the suspicion remains that any wrongdoing could be only in his mind.
