Learn about this early form of photography that creates distinctive blue prints. Cyanotype is an early form of photography that encourages experimentation and creativity. The beautiful prints are created when paper coated with a light sensitive solution is exposed to UV light (traditionally sunlight), with no need for a camera.
In the workshop you will learn:
· About the history of cyanotype
· How to coat the paper.
· How to expose the paper with a mixture of 2D & 3D objects including pressed flowers, drawings, and stencils.
· Fix the image to create the final print.
Emily with walk you through the process step-by-step and show lots of examples of techniques used to create unique cyanotypes. You’ll have lots of time to experiment with different techniques and the opportunity to ask questions throughout the session.
It's best not to wear your favourite clothes just in case you get chemicals on them. You are welcome to bring your own materials (stencils, photo negatives, flowers, lace, etc).
The workshop duration is 2.5 hours, and is located on the first floor which is accessed by stairs.
Drinks and snack will be available, so if you have any dietary requirements, please let me know when you book.
