With an ensemble cast including Sigourney Weaver, John Hurt, Harry Dean Stanton and Ian Holm, and the astounding H. R. Giger-designed titular creature, Ridley Scott's Alien is a masterwork of claustrophobia, dread and all-out horror.

"This Time It's War"
After being adrift in space for 57 years, Ripley (Sigourney Weaver) is rescued by a salvage team and returns home, where she learns - to her horror - that the planet where her crew first discovered the alien has since been colonised. Contact with the colony is suddenly lost, and a detachment of marines is sent to investigate with Ripley in tow. Her worst fears are realised as the marines discover the colony has been infested by a horde of aliens, leaving only one survivor.
James Cameron's 1986 sequel is a rollercoaster ride of suspense and terror, with spectacular special effects and fast-paced action.
