Yarn Spinning Workshop

Join in this beginners yarn spinning taster workshop using drop spindles. Be guided though the basics of this mindful craft and make your first yarn in the most simple of ways.

What You'll Learn:

• Introduction to drop spindles: Understand the history and versatility of this ancient tool.
• Basic techniques: learn the fundamentals of drafting, spinning, and plying wool and how twist works to strengthen fibre,
• Creating Your Yarn: Experience the satisfaction of crafting your very own skein of yarn.

No experience necessary and all materials provided

These workshops are designed for beginners and to be as accessible as possible but some hand dexterity is necessary and may not be suitable for those with painful joint condition in the hands. All of our activities and workshops are kindly donated by each of the practitioners for the benefit of the community.

This means that luckily for us, all of the tickets are FREE of charge.

If you'd like to donate however, there will be a collection box & card reader available at The Undercroft Gallery on your given activity date.

All of the donations will go directly to your workshop host as a thank you for helping us make this festival possible!

Please note: although these tickets are FREE they are limited capacity.
