VJ Day

Sunday 17 August 2025 - 10.45 - 11.30am, Church Plain

Please join the Royal British Legion Loddon & District Branch, and Loddon Town Council on the 17 August 2025 as we mark the historic 80th anniversary of VJ Day.

The Service will begin at 10.45 at Loddon War Memorial. With a Prayer, Unveiling the VJ Day80 Bench Plaque, Names read, Act of Remembrance and Wreath Laying.

This will be followed by our Piper leading the Standards and congregation towards Holy Trinity Church. Stopping for a few minutes for a Wreath to be placed at the Commemorative Ornamental Cherry Tree and unveiling of the new Plaque. Continuing on to the Church for a joint VJ Day80 and Holy Communion Service.


Wartime History Trail

Loddon Town Council has also compiled a wartime history trail, detailing WW1 and WW2 locations in Loddon & Chedgrave.

The trail can be downloaded from LTC's website or paper copies are available from Loddon Library or Loddon Town Council's Offices.
