Poetry Workshop with James McDermott in Gray Area Gallery

Join us for this Poetry Workshop with James McDermott at Gray Area Gallery! A workshop full of creativity and inspiration drawn from the current exhibition VERDURE as we dive into the world of poetry with the talented James McDermott. To coincide with Mark Mann's exhibition, VERDURE, through a series of writing exercises and group discussions, in this interactive workshop for writers of all abilities, you will learn tools and techniques to help you write the first drafts of several new poems inspired by Mann's works.

This in-person event will take place at Gray Area Gallery, a unique and vibrant space perfect for unleashing your creativity where we will have Mark Mann's show VERDURE on display. Take inspiration from Mark's works, with subject matters ranging from queer histories and nature to classical mythology.

Jmaes McDermott is a local Queer writer who has had plays published by Samuel French including 'Jab', 'Time and Tide' and 'Rubber Ring'. He has had poetry books published by Nine Arches Press including 'Father Myself' and 'Wild Life'. James is a lecturer at the University of East Anglia and has written for shows including East Enders.
