Poet’s Palace

Poet’s Palace is back, discovering new poetic talent and inviting new wonderful audiences to spoken word events in Norwich!
Hosted by previous London headliner and local poet extraordinaire Rhian Brooke.

There will be eight open mic slots, two of which will be wild card picks on the night.

The audience will vote for their favourite open micer and the winner will feature at our next Norwich event.

Ashley Hickson-Lovence

Ashley Hickson-Lovence is the author of The 392, Your Show, Wild East—overall winner of the East Anglian Book Awards 2024, and poetry collection Why I am Not a Bus Driver. He has a PhD in Creative and Critical Writing from the University of East Anglia and in 2023 was nominated for the Black Excellence Award for Outstanding Contribution to Literature alongside Bernadine Evaristo and Malorie Blackman

Joy Dairo

Winner of the audience vote from the April show. Joy Dairo is a spoken word artist who blends raw truth, faith, and real-life stories into powerful performances. Her work challenges, heals, and inspires, leaving every crowd a little braver and a little more hopeful.
