Birds and Wildlife at Sweet Briar Marshes

A look at the birds and wildlife that can be seen during autumn, timed to align with the beginning of seasonal migration.

Meet outside Norfolk Wildlife Trust reserve entrance. There is no dedicated parking for the reserve. The nearest car parks are Sloughbottom Park car park (NR3 2ES), Hellesdon Road Riverside Walk car park (NR6 5EG), Hellesdon Mill car park (NR5 0DA)

Directions from Slougbottom car park (on foot)

Head through the park, past the pavilion, until you reach Marriott’s Way. Turn right onto Marriott’s Way and walk along until you reach the east entrance to the reserve (accessed via Mile Cross Marsh, just off Marriott’s Way). It is approximately 400 metres from the car park to the reserve.

Access Information – There is an accessible path through the reserve connecting the east and west main entrances and connecting to Marriott’s Way. Several mown paths provide additional walks – all mown paths connect to the accessible path. Paths on this site are grade 1 (accessible route) and currently grade 2 (mown paths).
