The rally will take a similar format as it did in 2024.
There will be a floating market, display of various boats, ex working and converted heritage boats and of course the usual competitions.
The theme for 2025 will be the 90 years birthdays for a very large number of old working boats, particularly the Star Class Harland and Wolff boats where 66 pairs were launched that year for the Grand Union Canal Carrying Co. Of course there were others that were built that year too and we would love to see as many as possible. The birthday will extend to those that were built before 1935 as well so that none of the boats are missed out. We hope to continue the theme for 2026 and 2027 (1936/7) after that date the war came and few boats if any were built after that.
We have a floating bar, plenty of live music, Morris dancers, trip boats above and below Batchworth lock and also boat handling displays.
The Sea Scouts will also be hosting live music, food and a bar from Saturday Lunchtime through until Sunday early evening,
The fees for 2025 will remain roughly the same as 2024. We have added a couple more categories and we are offering a discount for the birthday boats so if you’ve got one, why not
