After School Art

Calling all budding artists! After School Art is a 4-week class that invites students ages 8-12 to explore different themes and materials in a supportive, encouraging environment.



Artists will learn about:

Acrylic painting
Drawing
Collage
Oil pastels

Process art (a technique that prioritizes the experience and action of making without worrying about the final product)



Lifelong skills we’re building:

Creative problem solving
Coordination
Self-confidence
Attention span
Self-expression
Decision making and learning from mistakes
Spatial skills

Dates and Times:

Ages 8-12: Wednesdays from 3:30pm-5:00pm



January:

Week 1: Acrylic Painting
Week 2: Drawing
Week 3: Collage
Week 4: Oil Pastels

February:

Week 1: STEAM project
Week 2: Sewing; quilt patterns
Week 3: Printmaking
Week 4: Self Portraits

March:

Week 1: Sculpture
Week 2: Encaustic
Week 3: Book Arts
Week 4: Plein Air Sketching
