Timothy Ström's presentation is entitled 'Atomised Abyss: Unsettling Right Accelerationism'. His talk will provide some context for understanding right-accelerationism through the multidimensional structural crisis that begun at the end of WWII. In his view, this destabilization have given rise to right-accelerationism—as well as undermining the left's ability to provide meaningful alternatives—and demands critical and radical attention be paid to trying to understand the nature of the shifting ground.
Pratyush K. will discuss the rise of fascism in India, its broader historical roots in South Asia, what it looks like today and the response from the left. The occupation of Kashmir and the recent Indian-Pakistan mini war will be the backdrop for this discussions.
Leyla Hayal will present a decolonial-feminist perspective where she will investigate the psychologies, epistemologies and ethics of the unfurling chaos. In addition, she will critique the inadequacy of identity politics in its ability to respond to what's happening.
