Townsville Gem and Mineral Show

The Gem Show provides families and individuals of all ages and abilities with a opportunity to enjoy the event as a day out, participating in the activities provided, being able to take your time to look through the stalls, as well as being able to sit and enjoy the food and beverages under a large, covered area with tables and seating provided.

The ‘Gem Show’ will be held over two days attracting local residents and visitors from around the region and nationally.

Activities will include:

'Sandpit Fossicking' – for the kids and young at heart.
'Gold Panning' – learn to pan for gold, every bag is guaranteed to have gold in it.
‘Pearl Shucking’ – freshwater pearl guaranteed with every oyster.
'Sapphire Fossicking' – purchase a bag of Sapphire dirt and wash it on site, learn how to pick out a rough sapphire.
Faceting demonstration.
Raffles.
Member displays - showcasing work created by Gem Club members.

Good Coffee - A coffee van will be onsite.

Vendors, local and interstate will be onsite selling all things related to gems, minerals and jewellery making.

Find your favourite polished stones and crystals; beads, opals, precious and semi-precious gemstones; even jewellery making and lapidary tools.

For the serious Rockhound you can even purchase your own machinery.
