This outreach experience is open to Service Members and one child within the Special Operations Forces Community.

About this Event

Interwoven: Tandem Kayaking Dad + Kid

Special Operations Dad and kid (over the age of 5yrs old) are invited to step away from indoor activities and experience time in nature while tandem kayaking around the intracoastal of Topsail Island. More than a physical activity, this program emphasizes the importance of being in nature to improve your health and to appreciate the beauty around us.

Nature has a profound impact on health and is a wonderful environment to release stress and everyday worries. While paddling through the quiet, still waters, you let go of stress, tap into tranquility, restore energy, and deepen your appreciation of beauty.

This event will include kayaks that fit two participants. Life vests will be provided. This event is designed to provide Service Members with one on one time with their child (age 5+). Limit one child per registration.

New to Interwoven events with The Station? Welcome! Our OutStation Facilitator or Mentors will be in contact with you to share our mission and confirm your Special Operations Forces affiliation.

6:30pm - Kayaking in Intracoastal

7:30pm - Finish Kayak Tour

Event Details:

Come dressed in light layers and anticipate getting slightly wet.
Please wear water shoes or shoes that can get wet.
Please bring a towel, sunscreen and a water bottle.
No previous experience is necessary.

This is a first come first serve event with a maximum capacity of 12 participants. We kindly request a cancellation notice no less than 72 hours prior to the event. Thank you for your consideration. If you need to cancel text or call Randi Pongo (805) 558-4257.
