St. James Episcopal Church, located at 474 Fruit Hill Ave., invites the community to a free “Introduction to Compassionate Communication” workshop on Sunday, September 21, 2025, from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. (Doors open at 1 p.m.).
This one-hour session serves as the kickoff to a four-week virtual course designed to enhance your ability to communicate effectively with people who view the world differently. Whether in personal relationships, the workplace, or broader community interactions, this workshop offers practical tools for meaningful connection.
The session will be led by Kathy Black, former Executive Director of Rhode Island Interfaith Power and Light and current instructor at URI’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute. With a warm, heart-centered approach, Kathy will guide participants through key strategies of Compassionate Communication—a method that fosters empathy, active listening, and constructive dialogue, even in challenging conversations.
If you're looking to improve how you communicate and connect with others, this transformative workshop is not to be missed.
Space is limited to 25 participants. To reserve your spot, please contact Sarah Rocchio at 401-286-6369 or
