The Summer Intensive is a dynamic immersion into the content from the first year of the Encounter School of Ministry. Each session covers foundational teachings from the school, alongside opportunities to activate what is being learned.
This event is ideal for those discerning their enrollment in the school of ministry, but it also provides an opportunity for those looking for ongoing renewal and transformation through the profound content and atmosphere of faith. Graduates of the School of Christian Formation, Cursillo Weekend, and even RCIA will find Encounter to be a natural next-step in faith formation and the continuation of their journey into the fullness of our Catholic Faith.
While the Encounter School of Ministry is not restricted only to Catholics, we do draw entirely from Catholic Teaching & Tradition and welcome those of non-Catholic faith to join us on their discovery toward Truth. This course is not a course on apologetics but a deep immersion into the teachings of the Early Church Fathers, Magisterial Teachings of the popes and Church Councils, and the lives of the saints in regard to the workings and demonstrations of power and love of the Holy Spirit throughout Church history from the time of Jesus to the present day.
The Catholic Church calls every man and woman into ministry through the various lay apostolates as part of Christ's call to apostolic mission. The Holy Spirit gives every baptized Christian gifts to help them accomplish their mission. At Confirmation, Catholics in a particular way are invited to stir up these gifts in the spirit of the Apostle Paul as he once encouraged St. Timothy to do the same. Such stirrings are not to be looked over lightly as the church and her saints have affirmed throughout the ages these gifts are necessary to the life of faith.
We at Encounter Palm Beach Campus have taken a particular commitment to the virtues, as well, as we believe neither gifts or virtues can be absent from the fullness of faith but both are actually required. Participants can expect a particular focus on understanding tradition and virtue alongside the teaching of charisms and demonstration of the power gifts of the Holy Spirit, as all are Gifts of the Holy Spirit and the Gospel is not whole without them.
