The Narrows is one of the most iconic day hikes in Zion National Park named for being the most narrow spot in Zion Canyon. As you hike through the blue water in the gorge, you will look up at rocky canyon walls a thousand feet tall as you walk through the Virgin River. Water levels can vary from ankle deep to chest high, and as with all slot canyons, caution should be used and the weather forecast should be checked.

Bring sturdy shoes with good ankle support that you don't mind getting wet, a walking stick or hiking poles, extra clothing layers for temperature changes, and a dry bag in order to make this hike an enjoyable experience.

Not for kids below 10 years, Parent's Supervision is a must

Overview
Moderately strenuous but challenging
Drive 3 hrs each way (we lose 1 hr in Utah)
Weather: we will check the weather a day before the hike but cooler in the river and canyon shade
Distance: ~12 mi RT
Elevation gain: virtually none
Hiking time: ~8 hrs (with pics included)
What to Bring for this Hike:
National Park Pass if you have one
~$30 for your driver for travel expenses
~$25 for dinner at Where ever we choose to eat
Breakfast snack to eat enroute
Lunch during hike
Hat
Sunglasses
Sunblock
Water: At least 2 liters of water is recommended
Dry bag is recommended
Hiking shoes/boots/water shoes that protect toes (Please do not wear flimsy water shoes)
Wool/bamboo/neoprene socks
Camera and waterproof bag
2 walking sticks/hiking poles (rocks are slippery in river)
Carpool
We will meet at Cannery casino Garage, 3rd floor, and arrange for car pools.

Safety First-Fun Second. We will maintain a moderate pace focused on feeling good, having fun, and enjoying the scenery.
Removal Policy
You will be removed after 2 no-shows, for a single act of irresponsible behavior that endangers the safety or wellbeing of the group, for disrespecting members, or for noncompliance with policies/rules.
