Join us for an adventure just slightly north of home! We will depart the Redstone North Huntingdon campus at 7 am on Monday, August 4th, and will make our way to Erie, PA. Upon arrival we will check out the beaches of Presque Isle State Park, including a stop at the historic lighthouse. Rather than climb the steep stairs at the lighthouse, we will also make a stop at the Port Erie Bicentennial Tower where an elevator can whisk us to the top to enjoy the view. Admission included. We will stop for lunch on your own at the famous Sara’s of Presque Isle for yummy sandwiches and ice cream. In the afternoon you may elect to enjoy a visit to the Erie Zoo for an additional fee, or enjoy some rest time at the hotel. For dinner we will enjoy a sunset dinner cruise on the Victorian Princess Paddlewheel Boat as we enjoy some time on the lake. Bring your dancing shoes for after dinner!
Tuesday morning enjoy breakfast at the hotel before we depart for Niagara Falls at 8:30 am. A step on guide will join us for the day upon our arrival in Niagara Falls, NY. We will enjoy riding on the Maid of the Mist, Cave of the Winds, and other sites. Our guide will make some suggestions for lunch on our own, and we will have some time for shopping before our departure. We will leave Niagara Falls in time to enjoy a sunset dinner on our way back to Erie for the night. (We will be staying in the same hotel both nights)
On Wednesday morning we will depart the hotel at 9 am and make our way to the Grove City Outlets. You will have approximately four hours of shopping and dining time to enjoy on your own, including the Wendell August Forge flagship store and history center. We will depart at approximately 3 pm to make our way back to Redstone.
Prices are as follows:
One person in a single room: $610
Per person in a double room: $485
Per person in a triple room $445
Per person in a quad room $425
(Zoo entrance fees will be paid upon arrival for those who wish to visit the zoo and prices are $12 per adult, $10 for seniors over age 62, and $8 for children ages 2 – 12.)
Prices include motorcoach, driver gratuities and fees, two nights hotel and breakfast, tower entrance, sunset dinner cruise, Niagara Falls tour guide and admission to Maid of the Mist and Cave of the winds, dinner on Tuesday evening.
A $100 deposit will hold your spot. Deposits are refundable for any reason up until June 4, 2025. Trips must be paid in full by July 5, 2025. After that time should you need to cancel we will provide you with as much of a refund as possible, based upon what has been paid at the time of your cancellation or if we are able to fill our spot. Travelers should be to board and exit the tour bus with minimal assistance. Assistive mobility devices are welcome and will be stored under the bus.
If you wish, we can assist you in purchasing travel insurance at the time that you reserve your spot. As an example, coverage for this trip for a 76-year-old would be approximately $75. This would provide for coverage if you need to cancel due to illness in yourself or a family member.
