Teams of five junior skaters each will play to Sur5 the competition.
4-8 teams play one jam against every other team, earning tournament points that will decide the tournament Champion. The number of teams will determine the number of jams. For example, if there are 8 teams, each team will play seven jams for a total of 28 jams for the tournament. The following points will be allocated per jam:
Team with Lead: 1 Point
Team with Most Jam Points: 1 Point
Tie for Jam Points: 1 Point to Each Team
Jams may not be called and will run a full two minutes.
Penalties will be called resulting in a trip to the box. Foul-outs (7 penalties) or injuries may result in a reduction in the number of team members skating. Teams may compete with a minimum of 3 skaters.
One team will be awarded the Tournament Championship!
Teams will choose a color on a first come, first served basis. Teams must provide their own shirts in their chosen color. Shirts must have the skater number on the back in 4" tall digits and must be unique within the team. Numbers will follow JRDA requirements which allow up to four digits, leading zeros, and no other characters such as letters or punctuation. Names may optionally appear on the back of the shirt. Numbered arm bands may be worn or numbers may appear on the shirt sleeve or numbers will be written on arms using Sharpie.
This tournament is for junior skaters. Skaters who turned 18 on or after September 1, 2024 are considered eligible to skate in junior events according to JRDA rules and may participate in this event. Skaters do not have to be JRDA members to participate. Teams may consist of skaters from different leagues.
