Please join Ali for this 11th cleanup of Copper Creek, just upstream of its confluence with Arcade Creek! We will continue to partner with Arcade Creek - Adopt A Creek Project to focus on this infamously trashed tributary that flows, unabated, into Arcade Creek. It is filled with trash that lines the bottom of the channel and the surrounding banks, polluting waterways downstream.
We plan to clean the north side of this area, above Garfield Ave. In addition to the creek channel, there is a seasonally marshy oak grove (currently wet), as well as upper dry banks. Lots of loose trash and bulk times in this location. Boots are recommended and waders might be recommended for some sections.
Please park in the Quiznos parking lot on the southeast corner of Greenback Lane & Garfield Avenue. We will gather our items and cross the street at the light.
We will provide bags, but please bring along your sturdy footwear, grabbers, buckets, and gloves - a limited number of loaner buckets and grabbers may be available. Participants will be required to wear rain boots or waders if they intend to get into the water. Entry into any waters is always optional.
As with all events shared on our Page, participation is performed solely at your own risk. Please place safety FIRST and do only what you feel comfortable doing. Moreover, participants will be required to sign a Release and Waiver form if they have not done so previously.
Overall, be safe, have fun and get some “Exercise with a Purpose”!, as Bill Templin says. Thank you! 💚
