Advance your Tunisian crochet skills and get ready for fall with this hat and scarf set! Over two sessions, we’ll walk you through the Mesa Hat & Scarf pattern step by step.
In Week 1, we’ll focus on getting started: crocheting your hat brim, picking up stitches, reading the pattern, and setting up the Tunisian block stitch. In Week 2, we’ll dive deeper into Tunisian technique, troubleshoot any questions, and walk through shaping and finishing tips for the hat.
What you’ll learn:
Creating a crochet brim
Working in row ends
Block stitch
Tunisian crochet color changes
Supplies needed:
worsted weight yarn in 2 colors (one solid and one variegated/self striping, high contrast)
One skein of each color if you're only making the hat, two of each color if you'd like to make a matching scarf
4mm crochet hook
6.5mm Tunisian crochet hook with 16” cord
8mm Tunisian crochet hook with 12” cord
Scissors
Tapestry needle
Pom pom maker or faux fur pom pom (optional)
