Before thousands of tourists were brought north by train to see the Dionne Quintuplets, the railway lines were critical to industry in Callander.

From the Nosbonsing & Nipissing Railway years to the Northern and Pacific Junction Railway, the booming saw mill industry saw a need for transportation of their lumber to larger cities and the railway lines filled that need.
