Back on Board: Fairview Skatepark Reopening with Pro Skaters

Normal Parks & Recreation invites residents to celebrate the reopening of Fairview Skate Park with a community event 2-4 p.m. Tuesday, July 22. This free, family-friendly celebration will feature high-energy skateboarding demonstrations and autograph sessions with professional skateboarders Jud Heald and Julia Brueckler.

Heald, known for his inspiring style and energy, will headline the event with a skating demo and join local skaters on the course inspiring participants of all skill levels to get involved and have fun. Both Heald and Brueckler will be available to meet fans and sign autographs during the event.

Brueckler played a key role in the planning process, contributing to the creative direction of the park’s design. The new layout was developed in partnership with American Ramp Company, with valuable input from professional skaters Brueckler and Cody McEntire. Community feedback ensured the final design reflects local needs and preferences.

The newly redesigned Fairview Skate Park features a street and pump-style layout with exciting elements like grind boxes, rails, quarter pipe, banks, stairs and slappy curb.

This event is free and open to the public. Families are encouraged to attend to enjoy the opportunity to be part of this exciting new chapter for the community.
