Iron Sharpens Iron is more than an event—it’s a powerful gathering of brotherhood, accountability, and healing.
On February 5th, men from across the community will come together in Norfolk, Virginia, for an evening rooted in connection, purpose, and growth. This experience is designed to create space for men to be real, to lay down the silent weight, and to sharpen one another through meaningful dialogue and shared presence.
The evening will feature opening remarks from Norfolk Mayor Kenneth Alexander, a powerful keynote message from Dr. Kirk Houston, and a dynamic panel discussion moderated by Derrick Malie Hansford, with successful men of diverse backgrounds engaging in honest conversation about manhood, leadership, and responsibility.
Guests will also experience the exclusive premiere of the Iron Sharpens Iron documentary, capturing real voices and real stories from the streets, along with the premiere of the Self Destruction remake music video, featuring a special appearance by the artists of The Nine. The atmosphere will be enhanced by live saxophone music from Michael Giamille, with food catered by Taste, because fellowship begins at the table.
This is a free community event, open to all. Single parents are encouraged to bring their sons to witness what grounded, intentional manhood looks like in action.
Presented by Norfolk City Councilman John Paige, Iron Sharpens Iron is a call to break the cycle, build the future, and show up with purpose.
