Join us June 6th-9th for a multi day celebration of all things mezcal. The premiere Mexico in a Bottle tasting event will take place on Saturday, June 7th on the grounds of the Cuero Viejo vinata where we’ll once again be showcasing beautiful mezcals, sotols and more from all over Durango and México. There will also be incredible art, artisans and delicious foods that celebrate the varied regional and traditional cuisines of Durango.

It is impossible to express how much we love the town of Nombre de Dios. Nestled among the mountains and volcanoes (inactive) landscape, it is located about 40 minutes from Durango city. The unique landscape and terroir is what makes this an incredible area of mezcal and sotol production in Durango. You could not ask for a better way to connect people, place, culture and spirit!

We have put together several options of how you can experience the beauty and wonder of Nombre de Dios, Durango as we celebrate Mexico in a Bottle for four delicious days. The full itinerary includes:

• Friday, June 6th: Dinner under the stars in Nombre de Dios that celebrates the incredible gastronomy of Mexico. Six courses will be created by teams of chefs from Durango, Mexico City, Monterrey, Puebla, Baja and the US. Each course will be paired with a different expression of mezcal or sotol from Durango.
• Saturday, June 7th: Sunrise Hot Air Balloon Tour
• Saturday, June 7th: Mexico in a Bottle
• Sunday, June 8th: Vinatas tour 
• Sunday June 8th: Closing party and celebration (Durango)
• Monday, June 9th: Agave reforestation program

The below packages offer different ways to experience that event.

The Full Agave

This very special package includes entry into all official Mexico in a Bottle events including the very special Friday dinner under the stars in Nombre de Dios hosted by chefs from Durango and around Mexico and the US, full Mexico in a Bottle event access, the Sunday tour of vinatas, the closing party in Durango, and the trip to the mountains for a special agave reforestation program. All transportation provided including pick up and drop off to the airport, all excursions, and parties for guests staying in Nombre De Dios and Durango.

Just the Mezcal

This package is for the folks focused on the mezcal and nothing but the mezcal. It includes full access to Mexico in a Bottle, the vinata tour, the closing party in Durango and the agave reforestation program in the mountains. All transportation provided includin pick up and drop off to the airport, to and from Mexico in a Bottle, the vinata tour, closing party and a trip to the mountains for a special agave reforestation program

Hot Air Balloon Tour (Saturday, June 7th)

The most beautiful way to see the landscape and beauty of Nombre de Dios. The excursion takes place at sunrise. You will gather at the Celebrante Mezcal vinata and have coffee and delicious pastries before climbing onto your hot air balloon for an unforgettable ride about the fields and towns of Nombre de Dios. Transportation to and from the excursion is included.

Vinata tour (Sunday June 8th)

A day visiting 3 different vinatas in the Nombre de Dios area showcasing different production styles and flavors. Snacks, meals, water and sips of mezcal included. Bottle purchases are separate. You’ll end the day in Durango for the closing party. Transportation with pick up and drop off to and from Durango and Nombre de Dios included.

Agave Reforestation Day (Monday, June 9th)

Spend a day planting agave in Nombre de Dios. Talks about the importance of reforestation and current efforts will help participants understand why this is so crucial to the ecosystem of Durango. Transportation to and from Durango and Nombre de Dios, snacks and water are included.

Information on travel to Durango:

Durango is home to an international airport that is about 20 minutes outside the city of Durango. There are a handful of direct flights from US cities that include Chicago, Los Angeles and Dallas, otherwise you will need to connect through Mexico City or Dallas. American, Delta, United and Aeromexico. Taxis and Ubers operate regularly in Durango for easy access to and from the airport. Please note that transportation is included as noted with the different packages and excursions to and from the various events.

Mexico in a Bottle and the majority of the events will take place in Nombre de Dios, Durango. The big event itself will take place on the grounds of Hotel Urajan. Info: An unforgettable Dinner under the Stars in Nombre de Dios that celebrates the incredible gastronomy of Mexico. Info: Soar over the Nombre de Dios landscape as the sun rises. Coffee and some light nibbles will be served prior to your hot air balloon trip .

Info: The big tasting event takes place on the grounds of Hotel Urajan in Nombre de Dios. You can begin your day with a tour of the Cuero Viejo Vinata and then join the fun and taste from more than 40 producers of mezcal, sotol and more. There will also be food for purchase from local restaurants as well as artesans, presentations and more. The event will be followed by an after party.

Info: The city of Durango is the backdrop of the final night of festivities which will include fireworks, music and a tour of some the the top mezcalerias in the city.
