On any given Sandhya, you will hear everything from Khyaals, Thhumris, Bhajans, Ghazals or old and new movie songs from some of the well accomplished singers in Melbourne. As you know, we have an invited artist for each Sangeet Sandhya - typically someone with a high level of musical ability and experience as a public performer. We're delighted to announce that the invited artist for this edition is
Siddhesh Natarajan, a contemporary vocalist and multi-instrumentalist, who is currently pursuing a Master’s in Contemporary Music at the Australian Institute of Music in Melbourne.
Sid commenced his training in Carnatic vocal and Mrudangam at Shanmukhananda Fine Arts and Sangeetha Sabha, aged 7. He discovered Western music at Chinmaya International Residential School and taught himself to sing as well as play the guitar and keyboard. One of his proudest moments was his band reaching the finals of the Furtados Band-It Festival in 2018, outshining more than 150 bands from across India.
Sid graduated from NMIMS School of Performing Arts, Mumbai with a bachelor’s degree in Western Contemporary Music. At AIM Melbourne, he continues to refine his artistry and prepare for bigger stages ahead.
Sid's music blends technical skill with heartfelt storytelling. He loves collaborating with other musicians and discovering new ways to bring sounds together. He will be showcasing a variety of genres at our Sangeet Sandhya.
