About the event

OWLS: Making Kombucha
Jasper County Conservation Board will host an Older, Wiser, Livelier Seniors (OWLS) program on Wednesday, October 8 at the Jasper County Armory/Annex Building in Newton. The public is invited to come for 10:00 a.m. coffee and a presentation given by Mike Gilbert of Prairie City. Gilbert grows aronia berries and will talk about the process of making kombucha. The combination of the antioxidant-rich berries and the beneficial properties of fermented tea makes aronia kombucha a refreshing and potentially healthful drink.

The OWLS program is a conservation program that encourages seniors to stay active and learn new things about the natural world.
