The Ship Inn’s Adult Build N Race a Raft (pre-registration required)

IMPORTANT. Pre-register your team for this popular event by texting Sharon on 07736 835536. Entry is limited to 16 teams of four. Please ensure you book with correct competitor names and team name.

Teams of 4 are invited to put on fancy dress (optional) and to build a raft using provided materials only, and then race their raft around our course just off the river beach. There will be a number of heats followed by a grand final with the winning team receiving the Raft Race Trophy, and the ‘Spirit of the raft race’ trophy awarded to the team at judges discretion.

Prizes also awarded for best fancy dress and best ‘you’ve been framed’ moment.

The wearing of buoyancy aids is mandatory (all safety equipment is provided).

All participants must be able to swim. The beach Marshall reserves the right to deny a raft from entering the water if it is not deemed safe. Teams on the water must adhere to the instructions of the safety boat.

Cash prizes awarded to 1st, 2nd and 3rd rafts in the grand final.

6:30pm. Register your teams at the Ship Inn beach beach

Entry fee : £10 per team.

7:00pm. Racing starts.

All materials, paddles and buoyancy aids are supplied.
