This concert will take the form of two
Spontaneous Soundscapes each built on an exploration of sound, harmony and extended melodic forms.
The band has performed at the Arts Centre before as The Occasional Quintet. The Quintet also recorded an improvised album in the hall here for Discus Music in 2023 which was described by music critic Richard Olivetti as “a low key masterpiece” (Full review here)
The lineup has morphed into a sextet welcoming flautist Rachel Miller and Tim Sayer on brass and electronics, both of whom bring huge experience and distinctive original performance styles to the eclectic sound which this great group of experienced improvisers already has.
