About the event

Dartmoor Open Moorland and Wooded Valleys
This walk is a strenuous 11.5 miles and being led by Stephen.

A Dartmoor walk that takes in the open moorland of Yartor Down and Corndon Down, the wooded Webburn Valley, and also the excellent Dr Blackall's Drive that runs along the top of the Dart Valley.

The approximate route from the Bel Tor Corner car park will be Sharp Tor, Yar Tor, Corndon Tor, Corndon Down, the hamlet of Jordan, then south along the Two Moors Way to Ponsworthy, then Leusdon, Blackadon Down/Tor, then drop down into the Webburn Valley to Buckland Bridge, then climb to Leigh Tor, then walk along Dr Blackall’s Drive to Mel Tor, finishing with a short walk back to the car park.

The walk will be somewhere between moderate and strenuous. The terrain underfoot is generally quite good, but note that there are a few steep climbs.

Looking forward to some nice autumnal colour :-)
