Embark on an exciting six-week exploration of British Sci-Fi TV and Film. This course takes you through the captivating world of British Sci-Fi, focusing on iconic series and movies that have shaped the genre.
Sessions will include:
Things to Come, the 1936 film based on HG Wells' novel, The Shape of Things to Come.
1950s - The Quatermass TV and film series including, The Quatermass Experiment, Quatermass 2 and Quatermass and The Pit. Hammer Sci fi and much more!
1960s - The launch of the iconic Dr Who franchise, 2001: A Space Odyssey, British 'pulp' Sci fi films including, 'monster movies' (Gorgo, Behemoth) and 'pulp' classics (Devil Girl From Mars), adaptations of John Wyndham novels, including The Midwich Cuckoos
1970s - The Tomorrow People, Blake's 7, A Clockwork Orange and more
1980s and 90s - Sapphire and Steel, Red Dwarf and Day of The Triffids along with The Tripods
2000s - Moon, Sunshine, Humans and Black Mirror
