Dancers and those interested in movement are invited to join contemporary dance artist and choreographer Maya Carroll for a one-day movement masterclass exploring themes from Emma Critchley’s Soundings exhibition, showing at Quay Arts from Sat 11 Oct to Fri 19 Dec.
This workshop is for anyone aged 16 and over with an interest in movement, embodiment, and creative exploration of dance interpretation. You do not need any prior dance experience—just a curiosity about the body and an openness to try something new.
Through guided improvisation, embodied research, and imaginative tasks, participants will dive into deep-sea-inspired movement themes, engaging physically and creatively with the ideas behind Soundings.
