Memphremagog Matters Symposium: Layers of the Land: Exploring Bedrock, Hydro, and Glacial Geology of the Memphremagog Region

Join MWA for our annual Memphremagog Matters Symposium where we will hear from two expert speakers all about the geology of our region including results of recent studies.
Jonathan Kim, Ph.D. Geologist with the Vermont Geological Survey (VGS), a division within the Vermont Dept. of Environmental Conservation, will speak about the current geologic work that VGS does with academic partners on watersheds statewide, including the progress to date on the bedrock geology and hydrogeology of the Memphremagog Watershed.
Stephen Wright, Ph.D., Senior Lecturer UVM Geology Department will present on the results of the recent surficial and glacial geological survey completed in the watershed. To view the latest Newport Area Geological Maps, visit :

There will be time for questions, and an MWA project update at the end.
This symposium will be held after the MWA Annual Meeting, and we encourage you to join us for both!
