FREE TASTER Make a Move - a class for people with neurological conditions that affect their movement

Make a Move is aimed at people who live with a neurological condition that affects their movement such as Parkinson’s, MS and also stroke survivors. There is scientific evidence to suggest that dance is particularly beneficial as the imagery and creativity incorporated in dance classes, can encourage new neural pathways.
Drawing on my training in dance for disability and dance for Parkinson’s, I have created this fun, inclusive, weekly class that aims to bring people together in a safe, stress free environment to improve their feelings of wellbeing, their fluidity of movement and build their confidence
The class starts with seated dance exercises to stretch out the body, warm up the joints and wake up the mind. For those who are able to, we then proceed to balance exercises using the chair as support, and a volunteer demonstrates a seated version for those who need it. The last part of the class, for me, is the most fun, as it’s when we create dances together. We always have a giggle. The participants are always so supportive of one another. There will be a FREE taster on Monday 15th September 11-12 Camp Hill Community Sports Club - CHCSC Thereafter pay what you can between £6-8. (Parkinson’s vouchers accepted). Carers and family/friends welcome too. We would very much welcome new faces.
