The organizers of Newport’s beloved Broadway Street Fair are kicking off the 2025 season with our 2 nd annual Spring
Concert and fundraiser starring Hey Nineteen on Thursday, May 22nd at the Jane Pickens Film and Event Center
located at 49 Touro Street in Newport RI. Come out to help support the Broadway Street Fair , the best annual event
produced by locals for our local community. Hey Nineteen has been recognized as the most authentic sounding
Steely Dan tribute worldwide. Since 2012, this 11 piece steely machine amazes it’s audience with the ability to
accurately reproduce the Steely Dan Sound and include a high energy show. Hey Nineteen is comprised of top
professional musicians, many of whom have performed with Grammy-winning, international artists. Hey Nineteen
brings the big hits and the deep cuts, from ‘Do It Again’ to ‘Your Gold Teeth II’, from ‘Reelin’ in the Years’ to “Doctor
Wu”, “Peg” and many more. Hey Nineteen will amaze you with their exacting solos (as originally recorded), vocals,
harmonies, and musicality, all while keeping you moving with their high energy stage show.
We are thrilled to be welcoming Hey Nineteen to Newport and for a unique twist, we are seeking help from the public
in selecting a great local band or performer to open up the show!
Broadway Street Fair is always on the hunt for new local talent to showcase. This year we’ve decided to seek public
submissions and give all artists the opportunity to submit a video of their performance to be reviewed by the
organizers. Simply go to www.broadwaystreetfairnpt.com and follow the submission link. We’re casting a wide net,
all genre’s, all format’s, all musical talent welcome, we promise to take a look and listen to see if your act has what we
are looking for. The deadline for submissions is 4/16/2025. The BSF Team will review and narrow down the
submissions to a select group and will publish those names and video links on social media to give the public an
opportunity to vote for their favorite act from 4/21/25 through 5/1/25. We plan to announce a winner on 5/1/2025.
We’re calling our contest “The People’s Choice”, and we really mean it! The winner will open our spring kickoff concert with Hey Nineteen on 5/22/25.
